Born in Mobile, Alabama, Terry became a seaman at an early age working ports from Galveston to Key Largo. Starting as an ordinary seaman he earned his Master Mariner certification and operated vessels of many types in the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean.
Terry's seafaring career led to law enforcement employment with the Florida Marine Patrol watching over the Atlantic side of Florida.
He lives in Semmes, Alabama, with his wife Vickie and three very demanding cats.
